Golar LNG could delay delivery of its first FSRU

John Fredriksen-controlled Golar LNG appears to have the option to delay its first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) depending on the employment it secures for the vessel.

The 170,000-cbm ship, which is due to be named Golar Igloo, is currently scheduled for handover from Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) at the end of October, TradeWinds understands.

But the owner could push the handover into the fourth quarter of 2014 if business for the unit does not materialise.
