Golar LNG celebrates being first to convert gas ship into floater

Shipowner Golar LNG is making history in the oil and gas industry with the naming of the first LNG carrier-to-floating LNG (FLNG) unit conversion at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore.

More than 200 guests attended the naming of the Hilli Episeyo at Keppel’s Benoi yard, in Tuas, last weekend. The FLNG production unit has been created from the previously laid-up, 126,200-cbm Hilli (built 1975).
