Peter Georgiopoulos-led dry bulk owners Genco Shipping & Trading and Baltic Trading are about to merge.
The deal will leave Genco with about 80% control in the combined entity, which will take advantage of Baltic’s listing on the New York Stock Exchange, finance sources tell TradeWinds.
Prospects of a combination between the two have been rumoured in the market for many months.
