Gas buyer Gail (India) has started trading offers with shipowners responding to the company’s requirement for LNG carriers to take on mid-term time charter but owners report an initial yawning gap between their bids and the Indian outfit’s response.
Shipping Corp of India (SCI), which is handling the process on behalf of Gail, is understood to have been countering owners’ first round offers at around 50% of the daily hire rate quoted.
