An earlier shipbuilding deal that went wrong has helped Norwegian owner John Fredriksen secure a “very special price” for his latest order for VLCCs.
Fredriksen has signed for up to six tankers of 320,000 dwt at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding (STX O&S) at $90m each. The deal covers two firm ships for delivery in the first half of 2017, plus four options.
