Greek bulker owner Franco Compania Naviera has sold two modern panamaxes in an internal deal possibly struck at above-market prices.
Sources say the Nicolas Frangistas-led company has sold the 76,800-dwt Calhoun (built 2006) to an undisclosed buyer for $6.75m.
The Sasebo-built bulker has just passed its second special survey.
The price tag suggests a rebound in secondhand values.
Last week, TradeWinds reported that the Imabari-built, 76,000-dwt Ocean Wind (built 2005) was sold to India’s Apeejay Shipping for $5.75m.
