The Piraeus-based company has contracted Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) to construct two 38,000-cbm LPG newbuildings for delivery during the last quarter of 2017. The deal is said to include options for two ships, with delivery in the following year
HMD officials decline to comment on the company’s shipbuilding activities. The price of the newbuildings has not been disclosed but brokers estimate it to be in excess of $50m per ship.
