Eitzen continues his comeback with second bulker purchase

Norwegian shipowner Axel C Eitzen is acquiring a second bulker after making his comeback in the market last year.

Eitzen is purchasing the five-year-old, 32,000-dwt handysize Maple Fortitude (built 2011) for $5.8m in a bank-related deal. VesselsValue says the ship, built at China’s Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipbuilding, is worth $6.3m. The deal is subject to inspection. Next special survey for the bulker is March 2021.
