Its new premium Asian cruise brand, Dream Cruises, kicked off with the inaugural voyage of the 150,000-gt Genting Dream (built 2016).
The two ships that Dream Cruises will operate once the identical sister, World Dream, is completed at Meyer Werft originally were ordered by Genting HK for its mass-market Star Cruises brand. They were shifted across to Dream Cruises when Genting HK deemed it necessary to offer a higher-standard product to catch up with the many cruise lines that have rushed to deploy their biggest and newest ships in Asia.
