A little-known shipping company led by the manager of a well-known Athens hotel has made a rare ship acquisition, encouraged by falling bulker values.
Diligent Holdings has completed the purchase of the 28,400-dwt Doris (renamed Geki Star, built 2008) from low-profile compatriot Commercial Shipping & Trading.
TradeWinds reported earlier this month that the Shimanami Shipyard-built ship went to an undisclosed Greek buyer for $6m.
