Historic lows in the freight market and low bunker prices have taken some of the shine off Finnish designer Deltamarin’s success in selling its popular high-efficiency bulker designs known as the B Delta series.
Despite the setback, the now Chinese-owned company still sees gathering more efficiency gains as one its key design objectives.
Deltamarin is perhaps the best-known designer among a vibrant Helsinki ship-design community and has a diverse portfolio from offshore vessels to bulkers and tankers, ro-ro and heavylift ships to luxury mega-cruiseships.
