Delos Shipping of Dallas, Texas, plans to invest around $372m on long-range-one (LR1) tankers supported by long-term charters.
The US private-equity firm has penned a letter of intent (LOI) for up to eight 76,000-dwt products tanker newbuildings at South Korea’s STX Offshore & Shipbuilding for delivery in 2017 and 2018, according to industry sources.
The deal involves four firm vessels, plus four options.
