US-based liner companies Sea-Land and Crowley have started taking
delivery of the 2,400-TEU vessels they are chartering from German KG
(limited partnership) companies Conti and Gebab.
Sea-Land is chartering three vessels from Conti at USD 19,740 per day
for three years, while Crowley is taking one ship from Conti, and two
vessels from Gebab. However, Crowley is only paying USD 18,500 for the
first three years, USD 19,500 per day for the following optional two
years, and USD 20,000 for the third optional one-year period.
