When Costamare unveiled an initial public offering (IPO) in November 2010, finance experts generally had two reactions — it was not a great time for shipping IPOs and the Greek boxship owner just might have a chance because it was “a real company”.
Costamare not only floated but it has been a distinct success, especially compared to the other shipowners who have listed since early 2010.
