Compagnie Polynesienne de Transport Maritime (CPTM) is seeking buyers for its 7,300-gross ton (gt) passenger/general cargoship Aranui III (built 2002).
The 112-metre-long vessel is unique as it has the hull of a multipurpose (MPP) general cargoship but also an enlarged superstructure with cruiseship-style accommodation for 200 passengers.
The ship is one of a rare breed of combination vessels built for a very dedicated trade, in this case a liner service from Tahiti to the Marquesas Islands, and brokers say this will make it difficult to sell, as its route-specific design is not of a type that would make it particularly suitable for any other service.
