ClassNK is setting up an independent Big Data centre to receive vessel-operating information from shipowners that could be used by a wide variety of companies to develop better technology.
ClassNK plans to have the data centre running as an independent company by the end of this year, with at least one large Japanese owner feeding all its information from 30 ships into a pilot project.
