Greek broking house Cass Technava Maritime has been revealed to be behind orders for a substantial number of bulkers and containerships placed by Greek owners at China’s Zhejiang Ouhua Shipbuilding.
The yard, which started building containerships for Northern European owners in 2005, diversified into bulkers from 2010, introducing 37,000-dwt and 82,000-dwt designs.
Sources say it won around 20 bulker orders from Greek owners including listed owners Safe Bulkers, which booked three kamsarmaxes, Hellenic Carriers, which inked two kamsarmaxes, and Paragon Shipping, which initially signed up for four handies and four kamsarmaxes and later inked in two 4,800-teu boxships.
