Sinokor Merchant Marine has reportedly sold a VLCC to the breakers as hopes grow that more tanker sales will lift the demolition sector out of its sluggish mood.
The 302,000-dwt Plata Sunrise (built 1999) was sold for demolition, probably on the Indian subcontinent, according to two US shipbrokers.
