Beleaguered international owners with offshore support vessels (OSVs) in the Brazilian market should expect continued low activity in 2015 and 2016, as state-owned Petrobras keeps “cutting to the bone” for some vessel types.
Petrobras has already reduced its chartered-in fleet by 43 OSVs, a cut of 13.2% over the past 10 months, but an additional 69 ships look likely to be redelivered, according to Brazilian shipbroking specialists.
