Belgian dry bulk player has brought a long-brewing fight with one of Dubai’s most powerful men to a head in a huge legal assault in the defendant’s own territory
The low-key Belgian shipowner had previously acknowledged the existence of the claims against the semidormant shipowner and its huge parent but not hinted at their scale. Sources close to the case say the current claim is just under $110m counting interest on a final arbitration award of over $100m.
