The Hamburg-based bulker owner is behind a bulker-to-tanker swap at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) group and, at the same time, has inked a fresh order for a similar-size newbuilding.
Industry players say Blumenthal has managed to flip one of four capesize newbuildings under construction at HHI’s sister yard, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, into a 160,000-dwt crude-oil tanker, while also signing up for another unit.
