A Bangladeshi tanker newcomer is scouting the secondhand market for its third aframax but is delaying plans to acquire products tankers.
According to local sources, Dhaka-based Eastern Ocean Tankers is currently hunting for an aframax of between 95,000 dwt and 100,000 dwt.
It is expected to be deployed transporting crude from the Middle East for domestic refiners.
The company currently owns the 98,500-dwt Fly Eagle (built 1992), bought for $10m, and 93,700-dwt Milkyway (built 1991), acquired for $9m in February.
