Panos Laskaridis doesn’t just transport fish. He loves catching them, and it was this passion that got the co-owner of one of the world’s biggest reefer fleets involved in an underwater archaeology adventure at Antikythera, a small island off southern Greece.
“I knew the team’s head, American maritime archaeologist Brendan Foley, for years,” Laskaridis tells TW+. “So when he told me, ‘Look, we’re doing this mission at Antikythera and it’s brimming with fish down there’, I was hooked.”
