On 21 July 2014, Maersk Line’s giant Triple E class containership Mary Maersk set a world record. It departed the Spanish port of Algeciras for Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia with 17,603 twenty-foot equivalent units (teus) on board — the most ever loaded on a vessel.
