The free cruise, organised by Boston-based Vantage Deluxe World Travel, gave families of victims of the disasters the opportunity to swap memories and insights, helping to find some closure from the experience.
The trip took the group from Passau in Germany down the River Danube to Budapest in Hungary.
“This is a group no one wants to belong to,” Maureen Santora, whose son Christopher was the youngest New York City firefighter killed on 9/11, told Fox TV News.
