John Fredriksen-backed Frontline 2012 is close to declaring an option for two more suezmax tankers at China’s New Times Shipbuilding.
“We are getting there,” a source close to the owner said. No deal has been made so far, he adds.
If the options are exercised, Frontline 2012 will have six suezmaxes on order at New Times for delivery in 2016 and 2017.
