An order for six "future-proof", environmentally friendly 3,640-dwt general cargo vessels designed by Conoship International has been placed at Germany's Fosen Yard Emden.
Construction of a first series of six vessels ready for wind-assisted propulsion and the use of future fuels is planned for spring 2022, with the entire series expected to be delivered next year.
The order for an as yet unidentified owner is hoped to be a springboard for the rejuvenation of German shipbuilding by the Fosen Group.
