The shipping industry is paying fewer ransoms and at lower rates in response to cyber attacks on their systems, according to a new survey.
Cyber security experts found that 7% of respondents to a 2024 study admitted to ransomware payouts to cyber criminals, with most of those under $100,000.
That marked a fall from 14% the previous year, when the average cost of payments was $3.2m,
