Japanese shipowner NYK has joined an international effort to capture ship carbon emissions as dry ice for storage in sea-floor sediments.
The DecarbonICE project will be conducting a feasibility study into the technique.
It was launched on 1 October by the Denmark-based Maritime Development Center, which has teamed with shipping companies, shipyards and others.
