The new chief executive of Windship Technology, which develops rigid windsail rigs for large bulkers, has a background in composite materials of the kind used to construct the rigs.
But Graham Harvey does not envisage the company manufacturing the units itself.
Windship Technology has gone a few steps further along the decarbonisation road, with a design for a zero-emission newbuilding that incorporates solar power, carbon capture and an optimised hull form, as well as a triple-wing wind rig system to power a diesel-electric drive.
