There is no turning back for classification societies that have adopted new ways of working to keep shipping moving during the coronavirus pandemic, according to the head of marine at Lloyd’s Register.
Nick Brown believes the time is right for societies to take a fresh look at established practices, such as periodic surveys, and seize what he views as an opportunity thrown up by the current uncertainty.
