Marine engineering group ABB is launching a simplified digital system for ship operators to manage propulsion efficiency and emissions reporting, which it claims can provide savings of up to 20%.
ABB Turbocharging said its Tekomar XPERT marine system now comprises three modules that can provide insights into ship performance that lead to fuel savings.
New hull and propeller and emissions modules have been added to an existing engine solution, currently covering the performance of more than 8,000 operating engines, to extend the system’s capabilities.
