Some 1,400 tankers have been identified as being at high risk of breaching western economic sanctions, according to maritime analytics firm Windward.
The ‘high-risk’ group includes 41% that are affiliated with Russia.
The findings are based on indicators including the location of port calls, the level of dark activities and involvement in the manipulation of satellite signals, according to the company.
