Wilmar International has returned to the newbuilding arena with an order for up to six chemical tanker newbuildings in China.
The Singapore commodity giant’s shipping arm, Raffles Shipping, is said to have order the ships at China’s Jinhai Heavy Industries.
The order is said to be for two firm 19,700-dwt IMO-II class ships with options for up to four more vessels.
The price-tag for the newbuildings was not disclosed, but Jinhai is slated to deliver the first vessel in early 2019.
