Rates for the largest crude oil tankers hit an all-time low on Tuesday and kept sinking, setting a new record of -$20,689 per day on a time charter equivalent basis on Friday after sliding $966, according to the Baltic Exchange.
Broker reports depicted a market with plenty of tonnage and few cargoes to go around.
