Dr Peters has scrapped one of its VLCCs to continue the flow of big tankers towards the breakers beaches despite the winter spike in rates.
Demolition sources say the company has scrapped its fifth VLCC this year, marking the 36 th tanker to leave the segment during an active 2018.
The latest VLCC to leave the Dr Peters stable is the 301,000-dwt DS Velvet.
