Vitol has extended time charters for a year on two long-range-one (LR1) tankers owned by Norway’s Jo Tankers.
The Dutch-headquartered commodities trader is paying $14,250 per day each for the 75,000-dwt Jo Pinari (built 2012) and the 74,500-dwt Jo Redwood (built 2013), according to a weekly market report by Seasure Shipbroking.
The deals are worth a combined $10.4m.
Lower rate
The rates are well lower than the $23,750 per day that Vitol was paying previously for each of the LR1s.
