Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP), the main site for the discharge of crude cargoes from VLCCs into the United States, closed earlier today due to a tropical storm in the US Gulf Coast.
Tropical Storm Cindy, which is about 345 miles (555 kilometres) southeast of Galveston, is producing 45 mile per hour winds. The US National Hurricane Centre expects the storm to make landfall by early Thursday morning.
