The UK has pledged to escort its vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, with more warships heading to the region.
The government had previously admitted it could not protect all its flagged vessels in the region, following the seizure by Iran of Stena's 50,000-dwt MR Stena Impero (built 2018) last week.
