National Iranian Tanker Co (NITC) is planning to send two more of its older VLCCs for recycling as it pushes ahead with its fleet renewal plans.
Managing director Nasrollah Sardashti said the company has received board approval for the disposal of two 1996-built ships.
While he did not identify the vessels, they are likely to be the DSME-built, 299,000-dwt sisterships Nasha and Navarz (both built 1996), which have been idle for at least the past couple of months.
