A Tsakos tanker rescued two crew members of a yacht shipwrecked in the Atlantic by huge waves which claimed a third person’s life, it has emerged.

The 164,500-dwt Triathlon (built 2002) rushed to the aid of the man and woman off Bermuda on Sunday after they had drifted for almost a fortnight following a storm.

Crew of the Greece-flagged tanker spotted the pair waving a flare almost 200 miles north-west of the island nation and diverted course to rescue them.
