Brussels-based tanker owner Transpetrol has locked an MR tanker newbuilding into a long-term charter with trader Trafigura.
European broking sources said the 50,000-dwt Endeavour, which is due for delivery from Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard in February next year, has been fixed for two years with an option for four more months at $17,250 per day.
The deal ought to be profitable for the Belgian owner, as it bought the vessel and its sistership, the Resolve 2 (built 2019), for $34m each from Norway's DSD Shipping last year.
