It has not been a good week for MR tankers plying the Rotterdam to New York route.
Ships on that transatlantic route have cratered in recent days, with rates for a non-eco MR falling from $3,472 per day on a time charter equivalent basis on Monday to just $721 per day on Thursday.
An eco MR on the rote opened the week earning $7,681 per day on a TCE basis and finished Thursday at $5,039 per day.
