Trafigura plans to remain a major charterer of tankers despite booking 30 new vessels in 2017 in response to growing oil shipments.
The trading giant is also positive on its reading of the dry cargo recovery during a year that saw strong overall results and a rise in chartering activity in an improving commodity market.
Trafigura placed a contract for 22 new tankers this summer in partnership with China’s Bank of Communications (BoCom).
