The new year has seen the VLCC time-chartering market wake up thanks to Trafigura.
Brokers have noted seven period charters for the largest crude oil tankers so far this year.
The hungriest charterer has apparently been Trafigura, with the Singapore-based commodities trader snapping up three of the seven on short-term deals.
