In a statement issued after the close Top Ships said the transaction involves the 49,700-dwt sisters StenaWeco Energy and StenaWeco Evolution.
The former hit the water last year and the latter is due for delivery in the first quarter of 2015, according to the company’s website.
Under the terms of today’s deal Top Ships intends to operate the duo for seven years but was given the option to buy them back after three.
