In a bid to expand their size, tanker pools are stepping up investments in new software and other digital tools as shipowners demand more insight into vessel performance.
Teekay Tankers is the latest example, launching “The Helm”. The website, introduced last week, offers its pool partners near real-time data on cargo bookings, ship location, pool earnings, and how much fuel the ships are burning.
