Swedish tanker owner Tarbit Shipping is taking delivery of three newbuildings. The move will take its fleet to 17 ships, all but three of them asphalt/bitumen carriers.
The Avic Dingheng-built, 5,000-dwt asphalt carrier San Bertoldo (built 2017) has been purchased for $17.5m, sources say. Director Anders Hermansson confirms the deal and says the ship has been renamed Bitfjord. Sources say it was acquired from Swiss-based ABC Maritime.
