The dash to move Russian diesel to Europe before a ban on imports on 5 February has lifted product tanker demand involved in the trade to a 30-month high, according to data provider Vortexa.
The analyst says the increase has been driven by MR tankers that are ballasting back to the Baltic more often than in previous months to take advantage of Europe’s preparations for the cut-off of Russian refined oil products.
