Tanker newbuilding deliveries reached record levels in the first quarter of 2019 bringing a sharp upturn in fleet growth after a stable 2018, according to data from Clarksons.
With a front-loaded orderbook and other factors coming into play the second half of 2019 it is likely tanker fleet expansion will moderate as the year develops, the world’s largest shipbroker says.
